Last week while out on a round of chasing yard sales,
I came across a breadbox.
It's quite a solid little piece.
A small but gorgeous little piece of cabinetry.
A makeover was definitely needed.
So with a shower from my little can of aqua spraypaint,
a bit of exfoliating with 200 grit sandpaper,
and a couple of massages with clear wax,
she was transformed.
The knob got a splash of Oil Rubbed Bronze.
I'm still learning just where to distress,
but think I'm getting the hang of it.
Aqua makes me happy!
I just love that small pieces can be made with details that can go into large furniture!
Rolltops on desks and boxes have always been a favorite of mine.
You can find this in our shop.
Off to tackle the next project!
Love this makeover! I've been using the aqua color quite a bit too :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue!!! Oh, that is so cute! I recently painted a bench buttery yellow for my kitchen, and have been telling hubby that something bright blue would really accent it well. Thanks for the inspiration!

My name is Roxie. I live in Texas. I have that same bread box. I have had it more than 30 years. Mine says 'bread' on the front but other wise it is the EXACT same bread box. I got mine as a Christmas gift from my brother so I treasure it. It could use a make over. Maybe I need to go hunting some spray paint. Thanks for sharing your make over. I am inspired.
ReplyDeleteCute makeover!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see this post. I bought a breadbox like this (says Bread on the front) a few months ago at Goodwill and just can't decide what to do to it. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, did you paint inside also? Mine has a fabric backing on the back of the roll top and I thought about using some cute fabric there.
